Super Granny Scarf

Start with a slip knot and ch 304

  • I placed a stitch marker every 50 stitches to help keep count

rnd 1: 2 dc in 4th ch from the hook (ch 3 at the beginning counts as a dc here and throughout pattern),

  • * skip 2 ch, dc cl in next ch *
    • repeat from * to * until you reach the end of your ch.
  • In the final ch, (dc cl, ch 2, dc cl, ch 2, dc cl).
    • This will turn your work so you are working up the opposite side of your chain.
  • * skip 2 ch, dc cl in next ch *
    • repeat from * to * until you reach the start of your ch.
  • In the first ch, (dc cl, ch 2, dc cl, ch 2) and sl st to the beg ch 3.

rnd 2: sl st slightly backwards into the ch 2 corner space and ch 3. 2 dc in the corner space.

  • * skip 3 dc and dc cl in the space between the dcs*
    • repeat until you reach the ch 2 corner space.
  • In the corner space (dc cl, ch 2, dc cl),
    • repeat again in the next corner space
  • * skip 3dc and dc cl in the space between the dcs*
    • repeat until you reach the ch 2 corner space.
  • Make another (dc cl, ch 2, dc cl) in the ch 2 space.
  • In the first ch 2 space dc cl, ch 2 and sl st to the top of the starting ch 3.

rnd 3-9: sl st slightly backwards into the ch 2 corner space and ch 3, 2 dc in the corner space.

  • * Skip 3 dc and dc cl in the space between the dcs
    • repeat until you reach a corner space
  • in the corner ch 2 (dc cl, ch 2, dc cl) *
    • repeat from * to * until you come to your first corner
  • in the first corner dc cl, ch 2 and sl st to the top of the ch 3

rnd 10: ch 1, sc in each st along the side, when you reach a corner space, 3 sc in the ch 2.

  • repeat around until you come to your first st. Join with a sl st, cut your yarn and weave in any ends

Fringe

Cut 80 stands of yarn approximately 24” (60 cm) long. I attached 4 strands at a time in each space between the dc cl along each end.

To add fringe, insert your hook through the desired space from back to font. Fold your fringe yarn in half and loop it over your hook. Pull the loop through the scarf, and pull the fringe ends through the loops. Pull tight. Once they are all added, trim them evenly.
