Santa Baby Booties

Use this free crochet pattern to make your own Santa Booties in a variety of sizes, from newborn to 1 year old.  Scroll down below the photos to see the full pattern.

Abbreviations Used – US Crochet Terms

  • sc – single crochet
  • dec – single crochet decrease – insert hook into first stitch and pull up a loop, insert hook into second stitch and pull up a loop.  yarn over and pull through all loops.
  • scblo – single crochet in the back loop only
  • sl st – slip stitch
  • ch – chain
  • hdc – half double crochet
  • dc – double crochet
  • sc3tog – insert hook into 1st st, pull up a loop, then pull up a loop in the next 2 stitches as well. Yarn over and pull through all loops.
  • sc4tog – insert hook into 1st st, pull up a loop, then pull up a loop in the next 3 stitches as well. Yarn over and pull through all loops.

With red yarn, start with a slip knot,

rnd 1: ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook, and in next 8 ch, 3 sc in final ch. Working up the other side of the ch, 8 sc, 2 sc in final ch. Sl st to 1st sc (22)
rnd 2: ch 1, 2 hdc in 1st st, hdc in next 8 st, 3 dc in each of the next 3 st, hdc in next 9 st, 2 hdc in last st, sl st to 1st hdc (30)
rnd 3:ch 1, 2 sc in first 2 st, sc in next 10 st, 2 hdc in each of the next 6 st, sc in the next 10 st, 2sc in each of the last 2 st, sl st to 1st sc (40)

Change to black yarn, join with a sl st

Turn your boot around and work with the inside of the boot facing you.

Finish off your yarn and weave in any ends you have. Fold down your cuff. You can add a decorative button or small flower to the cuff if you like.
